This highly successful 3 day event was held at Hellenic Academy in Harare, from 2 to 4 May 2025. We had 51 children (violinists and cellists) from book 1 to book 4 signed up and we spent the mornings working in groups and engaged in mini masterclasses. Sarah Claassen from the United States, who has been living and teaching in Zambia for many years, was our guest teacher and we had 3 other full time teachers and 6 part time teachers on the team, including one from Bulawayo.
The event ended at mid-day on Sunday with a concert, the programme of which included two pieces by Helen Butterworth as well as Suzuki repertoire. The positive energy and joy throughout the event was palpable both among children and teachers!
